Sep 26, 2008 · I have a 1974 Road Runner, 318 4-speed equipped, and I am looking to swap the engine out for a magnum 360, which leads me to some questions from you fine folks. I am going this route since I wish to swap over to fuel injection, and dropping in a magnum gets me most of the parts I need anyways. The Magnum heads with the swirl ports, closed chamber and rocker arms on bolt-on pivots, oiled through the pushrods, is different from the 5.2/5.9 Magnum engine and heads, and will work on the old 318/340/360 blocks with some minor mods. The job is a fairly easy bolt in swap but because we are dealing with the internals of an engine special care must be taken.
